A Dream Trip to Disneyland

My little girl loves Disney characters! It’s not a surprise, since most kids seem to instantly fall in love with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Pluto – the adorable dog.

Recently we had been to a local theme park and we came across two men dressed up as Mickey and Donald. The moment she saw them, my little girl went running towards them to shake their hands and she was so very excited when she could interact in real life with two of her favourite characters, whom she had only seen on YouTube or in comic books so far.

After we came back, all that she could remember and talk about was her brush with the Disney world. Where does Mickey stay?  what does he eat? If it rains, does Donald have an umbrella? She had a thousand questions about her two new friends.

Which got me thinking, what might be the best present for her upcoming birthday? Wouldn’t it be great to take her to meet the real Mickey and Donald at the home of Disney Characters? The Disney world in Orlando, Florida!

Of course there is the Euro Disney, the Honk Kong Disney and even the latest Chinese Disneyland… but in a sense, all these copies of the original.

I fired up Yatra.com to check out the flight options and there are several Airlines that have flights from Bengaluru to Orlando, Florida in the USA. While economy flight fares range from 80K to 100K INR, why not go the whole hog and have an experience of a lifetime – flying first class!

I saw that two of my favourite airlines are also on the long list; Emirates and Etihad. What makes them special is the fact that both of them have the ‘Dream machine’ of the air – the Airbus A380 Super Jumbo. (Though I am not sure if they have the A380 flying on this specific route).

So what would be a dream trip? Well, fly first class on Emirates or Etihad first class.

On Emirates Airlines , we could enjoy the amazing luxury of our own Private Suite at 35000 feet, savour the unique experience of a shower in the sky with A380’s Shower Spa and experience the fine cuisine served on board.

Etihad Airways takes it a little further, with the signature ‘First Apartment’, offering a large leather armchair, a separate bed of 6 feet and 10 inches and with the interconnecting doors; it is truly a multi bedroom apartment in the sky.

Add in Etihad’s inflight Chef and an extensive a la carte menu, I am sure it will be a ride on a magic carpet!

In Disneyland, there are plenty of accommodation options, both inside and outside the theme park, but to make the experience as authentic as possible, the best place to stay would be the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, which is inside the theme park itself.

What to do, where to go inside the theme park is a no brainer. Disneyland has a whole range of itineraries that are designed to cater to visitors of all ages and preferences.

From thrilling experiences for the little ones, romantic experiences for the young couples to relaxing holidays for the older folks… they have everything planned!

What an amazing experience it would be for the little one… with all the thrilling rides, the unique adventures, the themed experiences, the fireworks and all the light and magic! – And of course, not to forget the unforgettable experience of having met the real Micky and the Real Donald!

Let me get back to the net and start planning right away!
